MEMBER BIO:

My name is Brian Hergert. I am originally from Port Angeles, Washington, where my love for cars and the outdoors started. I live with my 10-year-old black lab retired guide dog, Sherman, and my new 2-year-old yellow lab guide dog, Talent, in Colorado now. I’m visually impaired, and have been since birth.

I know this can, and will spark some questions, so I’m happy to answer it now. Do to my visual impairment, I am unable to drive. But, my love and passion for cars, doesn’t stop me from owning them.

When the dogs and I are not exploring the mountains of Colorado, in my 2018 Subaru Forester, I’m usually doing something with cars, weather it be working on them, detailing them, or going to car shows.

Other things I enjoy doing, when not working Talent, walking Sherman, Or playing catch or tug with the dogs, would be Rock climbing, hiking, camping, or wrestling. I’m big into the outdoors, and I don’t let my visual impairment stop me from doing any activity I set my mind to.

Looking back on it, I think the most adventurous trip I’ve done so far, was white water raft 89 miles down the Colorado river, in the Grand Canyon, when I graduated high school back in 2012.

I came across Scott’s channel a while back, when looking at how to set up my Forester for overlanding, to best fit the needs for me and my dogs.
