MEMBER BIO:

Growing up in the mid-west in Illinois I was able to experience plenty of the four seasons. Experiencing pheasant hunting in the snow on Thanksgiving in the early morning is a memory to never forget.

In my early 20’s I moved to Georgia and lived in the metro area, some thirty-plus years later I now call this my home. I truly love what Georgia has to offer. Being just hours to the ocean, the gulf and my coveted Appalachian mountains it really does offer everything an outdoorsman would want.

Some folks are beach people, me… 100% a mountain person.  Over the years to find ways to unplug from the daily grind and even in my most personal moments I would run to the mountains. Though they are not as majestic as something like the Rockies, it still has a purity that resets the soul.

In the last couple of years, as life has a way of keeping you humble, I had to hit the reset button at age 55.  In that search of where do I go now I came across several inspiring YouTube channels, Scott Leuthold’s Team 4Xpedition being one of them.  Having watched nearly all of his videos it spoke to me realizing it’s never too late to find yourself.

Soon I found myself trading in my BMW 750Li for a 2019 Subaru Outback. Though I’ve not built it out quite like his old one, I have successfully built out a sleeping platform and kitchen set up. Now I spend a lot of my free time heading up to the North Georgia Mountains finding new waterfalls to discover, trout streams to wade into and remote areas to camp for the night.

It’s always been a dream to live in a cabin remotely. With Scott’s videos continuing to inspire me and many others the future is open to all of us.

Continue to chase your dreams and never settle for less than what you deserve! See you on the trail.
