MEMBER BIO:

I’m from the national capital area of Ottawa, Ontario Canada where I was active in Scouting while growing up. I only moved away while attending school in Thunder Bay, Ontario where I studied Outdoor Recreation, Parks, and Tourism.

Home is now in a small town to the west of Ottawa. I feel lucky to live minutes away from many wonderful parks, trails, hills, rivers, and lakes. I’m grateful that through my studies and Scouting, I was able to experience many outdoor activities and adventures.

One of my most memorable adventures was a twelve day, pack-in pack-out, hike through Philmont Scout Ranch at Cimarron, New Mexico in 1995.

I really enjoy hiking, water activities, and camping in summer and fall. In winter, I enjoy snowshoeing, and skiing. I also love spending time at my family cottage on Kawagama Lake with my wife, son, and daughter, near Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario.

I’m approaching 42 years old and have been seeking more ways to venture out in relative comfort. I’m looking to start travelling further away to find new experiences and surroundings to explore while also keeping my kids excited and engaged.
