MEMBER BIO:
Hello Everyone, Collin Leuthold here! A fellow adventurer and 4XPEDITION Ambassador located in Scottsdale, AZ! I have previously adventured in my 2013 Subaru Outback with an Autohome 2-person rooftop tent. I am now the current owner of the 4XPEDITION 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6R with a 2-person iKamper.
A little about me:
I am Scott Leuthold’s son. Like him, I love adventure and getting myself out there. I think that getting into the outdoors is a very important part of a healthy life. I am an avid adventurer with many experiences to share! I was born in Scottsdale, Arizona and I’ve lived here all my life. I currently go to GCU (Grand Canyon University), studying the Science of Business Management. I am also starting a business dabbling in photography and social media marketing, and currently working as a bellman at Hilton Scottsdale Resorts and Villas. In addition, I contribute content and posts for 4XPEDITION. I have even been a part of one of the YouTube videos in “The Pursuit of Cabin Living” series.
When I think about going on adventures, I think about being spontaneous and letting the adventure take you somewhere. It’s not the smartest way to go road-tripping but It can be a lot of fun. Just recently as an example, I went out with a friend up the coast of California for a week. We did this with no plan, just a drive to see as much as we could. We didn’t really know how much we would learn in one week driving almost 1,500 miles. The number of lessons you can learn and the experiences you can have in a week-span road trip can be pretty mind-boggling. I’d say I learned a lot about myself on that trip than I ever could have at home. This is why I think going on road trips can be really valuable to building your own personal character.
Not all my trips are spontaneous, and that’s ok because I’m always up for new experiences. This reminds me of a time when my dad and I went to Costa Rica for two weeks! This was the first time I truly went out of the country other than Mexico. It was a totally different world than what I grew up in, but it was something I needed to see and needed to be submersed into. This was another trip that helped me shape who I wanted to be as a person. I would say I’m a pretty outgoing, talkative, creative, and personable person.
I own about 20 film cameras and 3 digital cameras and use them very frequently. I post my photography on my Instagram which is, @LEUTH99.
I also sang in the choir for nine years, even singing in cathedrals in Manhattan, Los Angeles, and Flagstaff. One of my biggest choir accomplishments in school was performing at Carnegie Hall and receiving “most improved singer” in Advanced Choir at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale. I even was a part of Jazz Choir, since I love jamming out to jazz from time to time. Also, a big thing that I like to identify with is inspiring and being inspired by others. I love to watch inspiring content on YouTube, and I love to be inspired by people around me. I also tend to try to inspire people to do things out of the box and do things that make them happy. I love to make a difference in people’s lives if I can.
It’s really cool that I get to be a part of the 4XPEDITION adventure group! I love supporting my dad in any way I can and I like the sense of community that Team4X has to offer! You may see me in another upcoming video on the Youtube Channel! I also attend the monthly Team4X Zoom calls! See you there!!
