MEMBER BIO:

Hi all.  I’m Nathan, Founding Member #6.  I have been an avid adventurer since my youngest days.  My dad is a retired state park ranger, so I grew up surrounded by camping, nature and lots of exploring.   I’ve lived my life in public service as both a career firefighter and a law enforcement officer.  I own a small firearms training company that services both civilians and law enforcement agencies.

I’ve spent most of my life in Washington State and love to travel, both locally and internationally.  I specifically love Iceland for the ruggedness, Mexico for the diving, and the Philippines for the people.

I bought my 4runner new with 8 miles on it.  It’s been a labor of love the last 6 years of constant build and refit.  I’m almost done…  Just kidding, there’s always another mod to be done.  But it is close.  The odometer just turned 130k miles and it runs just as strong as day one.  It’s been all over the Western US a couple times.  Its nickname is the Dump Truck because it’s tan, says TRD on the side and sometimes I’ll stop in the middle of a trail and run off to well, you get the idea.

My wife has the Tacoma, and the major components of its build-out should be complete in a month or two.  She’s going all in with a RSI Smart Cap, front and rear CBI bumpers and a CVT clamshell tent.  They are gonna look amazing side by side.  It took a little while, but she is becoming quite the explorer.

I’ve corrupted the rest of my family (and a bunch of friends too).  My oldest boy and my dad both have Jeep Grand Cherokees kitted out for adventure.  My daughter has a cute little Jeep Liberty and one of the other boys has an Xterra that’s in the middle of a transformation.

I bought the BMW last fall and am looking forward to a new style of adventure this year.  My only other motorcycle experience is on Honda cruisers.  Off road on two wheels probably has a learning curve, and you’ll probably find me crashed out around a corner on it. 😊 But, Gas is expensive, and my wife can be a support vehicle in her Tacoma.
