We took a small excursion yesterday to visit the village of Fort Spokane - it's not a large populated place and as far as I can tell it only has one restaurant which also serves as a convenience store, bait shop and propane seller.    And it's presently for sale!

There is a large park at the river which I look forward to visiting in summer,   the water looks beautiful right now but with air temperatures around 10F we did not feel inclined to take a dip.    I suppose the water was necessarily warmer than the air since it was in the liquid state..

Not much hiking around there as all the surrounding land is private property and homes so the majority of recreational opportunity is on the rivers but the park and campground look like excellent stop-over spots for travelers and the campground appeared to be open even in the middle of winter.

Looks like the Cass Street bridge that crosses the Mississippi River in my home town of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
