Good morning!
I just finished watching Scott's/4Xpedition's latest Pursuit of Cabin Living series, relieved to see that after all that work the Songbird cabin is still, for now safe from the fires..
But the Cabin and homestead, rural living, or even lifestyles in general aren't really reflected in the community. I know that for now it's pretty quiet around here but if the principal media outlet for 4Xpedition is a youtube channel that for now is focused on lifestyle rather than travel, would it not make sense to have an inviting portal for lifestyle interests here too?
I know an everything community is a nothing community so it wouldn't make sense to have a thousand topic sections like pets and music and tractors and zookeepers and space ships and moonshine distilling but if somebody's engrossed with the Cabin Living videos and comes here to see travel topics exclusively it might be a bit odd, plus nearly all of us have homes and close-to-home pursuits to discuss with each other when we're not actively seizing an adventure.
Eager to hear other thoughts on the topic.
Moonshine Distilling could be an interesting lifestyle topic, that may blend well with Cabin living 🤔, and maybe converting it to Ethanol may be a necessary source of sustainable Overland fuel with the current direction things are headed! Lol! Kidding!😁
I'm not 100% clear on what you are suggesting? But if you are suggesting that 4x has a broader range of Specific "Series" such as "Pursuit of Cabin Living " , "Solo Hiking Series" , maybe "Overland Series?" "Vehicle Mods" etc. Sort of mirroring the different Community Forum topics, I think that is the direction Scott has planned, "Maybe"?
Were 4X would sort of be the Channel, but have several different Series, with several different content creators, and contributors? I think that is certainly the direction to grow towards?
That would create more variety of videos, and characters to attract a wider audience so to speak?
I guess Scott will need to chime in to share his overall vision, of the long term "Big Picture" of 4X?
My initial interest and perception, is that 4X would also be a platform to Organize different "Trips and Adventures" with like minded individuals, to see the world, whether Local or abroad? Hence: "Expeditions".
Plus, the ECO, event Scott is working on, which I think will be a sort of Spring Board for all of the above eventually? This will have a variety of Outdoor topics, which will expand the overall mission of 4X?
This will take all if us stepping up to support Scott in that direction, his job is to communicate and clarify that, to the rest of us. Slow and Steady wins the Race!
That's my Humble Input!🤪
One first step, is I challenge all founding members, to share your thoughts and perceptions as to why you joined, 4X, and what is your perception of the 4X future and vision.
If we can't get regular interaction here on this forum with just a bit of input or comments, then it shows the commitment level of the group as a whole to future success? 🤔 It can't just be a One Man Band? Or Soon, a One Woman, One Man Band!?
What Say You ......4XERS?
Ciao! John Paul T. ✌🤙😎

I mostly just mean that maybe this forum could benefit from a topic section that accompanies the subject matter depicted on Scott's Youtube channel.
This forum is almost exclusively travel activities, but presently the media outlet (4Xpedition on Youtube) is almost exclusively cabin/homestead/lifestyle topics.
So if somebody was encouraged to join after watching a cabin life video they might be surprised to learn there's nowhere on the forum to discuss that kind of stuff. And for those of us already here, well most of us aren't traveling full time so we probably have some stuff going on at home we could share with each other.
I get it! 👍 I guess that will be a great topic to discuss at Zoom Camp "Manaña!"?
Here's some things going on around my house this past couple weeks!
Gila Monster snuck into my garage, had to relocate him out back! These are fairly rare to see, but have had some more recent encounters this past few years. Funny I caught him in front of my rodent repellant! Could be a marketing add! Lol!
A Harris's Hawk was hanging on my back patio, looking for lunch! Now that my pups are gone, he felt comfortable raiding some Doves nest on a shelf on patio. (Had to put my 16 year old Golden Retreiver down a few weeks back). Harris's Hawks are known as the "Wolves of the Sky!", as they hunt in packs like Wolves! There is a group (aka: Kettle of Hawks) that always patrol and hang out out on the Telephone poles outback.
Then ran across this Diamondback Rattler sunning across my favorite hiking trail. I normally let them be, but I chewed this one off the trail since there were some young and elderly hikers coming up behind me. They for sure would have encountered it, if not step on him. I have to relocate Rattlesnakes regularly from patio, or around house.
The Desert Life!
This was interesting, a Bear was wandering around in the foothills this Week! They think he followed some of the river beds down from mountains? Most don't think of bears in Tucson desert, but they do wander down occasionally!
Ciao!✌😎

Hi there Shovel.
I agree. I will add the section to the Forum.
