Just got back from an amazing trip to celebrate my daughter's 35th birthday, where we visited and camped among the old-growth Redwoods of Humboldt County in Northern California.
Being a California native and having spent 20 years living within minutes of the Redwoods in Northern California, I am always amazed and awestruck whenever I am around these ancient trees. The drive to see them from my home in Arizona is a bit brutal, as you have to go through "LA" and other congested areas of California to get to the further reaches where the old trees are, but I'll gladly suffer that pain just to see them again.
If you've never seen an ancient, ginormous coastal Redwood, you owe it to yourself to make it a "bucket list" priority.
If you're interested, I captured a few photos that I've made available in a shared album on Google: https://photos.app.goo.gl/GN6VYDmyWSGjd3Jj7
Wow that sounds like that was an amazing trip! Birthday fun and the glorious sites of nature...perfect. Thank you for sharing the photos they were beautiful. I loved the one that looked like a cave with all the little ferns growing in it. Such beauty to be seen in this world.🙂
I love that area so much. It was definitely on my list of places to possibly purchase property. I only hesitated due to the California taxes and the NC fires. Otherwise, I think it would have been considered #1 or #2 on my list. Beautiful photos. I particularly love the placard you photographed. If I recall that was in the California Federation of Women's Clubs Grove?
I filmed that location on 4XPEDITION Adventurer a few years back. Rented a camper van and did a solo trip there. I loved it.
