Don't let the name fool ya.., This scenic mountain settings has about 20 great camping sites that overlook a beautiful reservoir.  There are (free) numbered designated sites that have fire rings.  Each can accommodate a few vehicles with some having enough space for camping trailers.  The reservoir does not allow swimming, however you can fish, canoe, kayak, or SUP.  Keep an eye out for wildlife - we saw a bull-moose on our drive in.  The road coming in is a fun dirt 4x4 single-lane track.  Fairly easy route that has small ledges and one steep, chewed up hill.  4wd & high clearance will help you here, but subies and AWD SUV's should have no problems.

N39 57.046  W105 23.233

Directions: From Boulder: Take Canyon Hwy 119 about 4 miles west to Magnolia Dr.  Take left on Magnolia, go approx 6 miles to C.R. 68 on left.  Go another 2 miles to parking lot and start of 4x4 trail.

I wonder why New Mexico doesn't have Moose. Seems strange as the region I am in is only 5 hours south of you and is just as mountainous and wetland. Great shots! Thanks for sharing.
