Looks like it's coming up on a year since a bunch of us signed up,  though many of us wouldn't meet each other online till the forum went live and zoom camps started happening.

Cool place,  but I don't feel like I'm making the most of it.    There are 71 members and 833 posts here so at least in terms of community on the forum I'm guessing some others aren't making the most of it.  When that renewal hits..  well it's gotta be worth it right?      I'm up for another year but I want to make that next year count.

Can we discuss how to make the most of our memberships here whether we're actively traveling or not?

I appreciate and value this post.

We've had 3 new sign-ups in the last month. One new member was on this past zoom call, Kevin, and he is featured this month from Texas. We had a new member sign-up from Chicago, Mike, and one from Tucson, John. Often, new members sign-up but never log in to the member portal to introduce themselves. Kevin logged in and got somewhat involved. Mike never logged in though I have chatted with him on the phone two or three times and John just signed up so I have yet to get in touch with him.

I agree that more needs to be done to collaborate. My intentions are to get my cabin home completed before the end of October and into November. Then, after that, I am planning to focus a lot more on the membership, the portal (especially the mobile app version which is going to cost me about $2,000 to complete -- I've not been able to invest in it yet due to getting my living space complete before the winter).

I also intend to organize an annual meet-up for members. Either in some location central to all members (we have some on the east coast all the way to the west coast and Canada) or right here on my property in New Mexico. Until we have a larger group, I cannot set up the regional chapters. My plan with the Ambassador program was to organize regional leaders to work on the recruitment of new members and also to encourage new members to be more involved.

Deb has offered a lot of ideas and I have implemented some of them but just haven't been able to execute on some of them. For instance, I need to be doing more communication (e-newsletter, more Instagram posts, logging in to the portal more to initiate conversations, etc.)

Regarding the Zoom Camp calls, generally, the small size of the groups allows for general chit chat which is great, but as the membership grows, I had expected to have speakers on particular subjects.

I've reinvested essentially 100% of the proceeds from membership sign-ups back into the portal with further development, giveaways, etc. I don't suspect the program will be profitable until we reach at least 500 members.

The membership is still in its infancy from my perspective. I think it has a lot of value and potential. My intentions are to invest more time this winter breathing more life into the program.

Thanks for initiating this conversation, Shovel!

Best,

Scott

Please note: All early bird members who signed up before December 31 have an expiration date of January 21. This is because I didn't launch the portal until January (The TEAM 4X member portal sn't even a year old yet.)

Some members have their accounts set to auto renew and others have accounts set for manual renewal. You can review your subscription by clicking on Member Account in the main navigation of the portal and then click on Subscriptions. If your payment method says Credit Card then it is set to auto renew. If it says Manual Renewal, then your account will go into a hold mode until you renew your subscription. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
