Hey, everyone. I'm excited to be a part of Team 4X and look forward to adventuring as part of a community. Here's a quick rundown of who I am:
I'm a native Californian originally from Long Beach. Prior to moving to Arizona in 2000, I lived in Silicon Valley for 20 years. I love being outdoors enjoying nature, whether it be camping, kayaking, swimming, or just driving my Subie through the backroads. My adventure vehicle of choice is a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek outfitted with a Roofnest Rooftop Tent. I also converted a 5x8 cargo trailer to a camper that I affectionately call "Clutch".
Hi there Debra! Thanks for sharing some information about yourself. I'm so happy to have you on the team. I am looking into that issue you mentioned about the social icons. I will get that updated asap. Cheers!
Hi Debra! I always think of the Queen Mary when I hear Long Beach (it was a fun night but one night was good enough 😆).
I'd love to hear more about Clutch. Did you pick that name because it always comes through for you in the clutch? My girlfriend is from Virginia and that's one of her sayings if something is awesome.
Nice to meet you!
@luke-moussa Ahh, the Queen Mary. I remember when she came to Long Beach in the early 70s, which was a big deal for the town at the time.
So, you want to know how my cargo trailer got its name? I'm showing my age (66 years young), but when I was a kid, one of my favorite TV shows was "Clutch Cargo"; hence the name for my cargo trailer. I even have a big sticker on the back door of his manly face! I'll be posting some photos to the forum at some point showing the conversion from cargo trailer to camper (and yes, I did all of the work myself).
Looking forward to meeting you both. 🙂
@debaru That is clutch (see what I did there). I need to look up Clutch Cargo's manly face and learn more about this. That is such a great logo. I'm super interested in knowing about the trailer build. Thanks for sharing!
@luke-moussa hey I’m essentially from Virginia. I graduated from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg. I lived in Richmond after getting home from Iraq in 2008 and moving to Colorado in 2015.
@matthew-blair small world right? Megan (who I'll persuade to become a member) went to JMU and lived in Richmond but grew up in Newport News. Just went to visit there for the first time and it's quite amazing (the buildings and history and landscape). We spent some time in Culpepper and I thought that was such a cool town.
Also, if I am correct in concluding you are a Veteran, thank You for your service.
@luke-moussa nice. I lived just outside Richmond proper, in Midlothian. I spent most of my time climbing at Peak Experiences at the intersection of Huguenot and Robious.
@matthew-blair I got a head nod when I mentioned those streets. I like climbing as well! Very cool.
