On the internet I usually answer to shovel and in meatspace I usually don't answer if I can avoid it.
My wife and I live in Washington state and occupy ourselves with as little pretense as we can manage while still experiencing occasional delusions of adequacy and self respect. I am licensed to drive 2 wheeled and 18 wheeled vehicles, prefer to walk but end up driving 4 wheels most of the time out of necessity.
Travel goals presently on the whiteboard for post-pandemic include showing my wife NYC, returning to Alaska this time with enough maturity and clarity to appreciate it, and a trip to the Yucatan peninsula. Occasionally I publish travel and automotive content to Youtube but as I have no background or education in the production of entertainment material it's all quite amateur and done largely for my own amusement.
With no particular affinity for brands there isn't much to share in vehicles or other travel-related gear. You can probably get a pretty good picture of what I'm about from the aforementioned Youtube content, linked above inline.
Hi there Shovel! Welcome to Team 4X! And, thanks for posting some things around the Portal. Look forward to this thing getting rolling. More to come. Thanks for sharing about yourself. I agree about Alaska. I look forward to making a trip there in the future as well.
Shovel! Awesome introduction 👍 👍 Nice to meet you.
Alaska is on my list but it would be my first time. I may need to get with you for some pointers.

Thanks!
As far as Alaska goes when we head that way post-pandemic it might as well be the first time; the last time I drove there was 25 years ago and I wasn't really thinking straight just staring at the windshield and letting stuff happen. I'm not talking about drugs or anything like that just being young and as I would later discover, growing up a bit. It was beautiful of course I remember that much about it but even if I had it all picture perfect I'm sure a lot changes in a quarter century. Back then crossing into and out of Canada was considerably more informal than it is now!
Nice to meet you Shovel! Looking forward to hearing about your adventures!
