Hi everyone 👋 I'm Paul who lives in what's referred to as god's own county of Yorkshire, England !!
An ex National Park Ranger and EMT for a while but now a Wildlife Crime Ranger and very passionate about the countryside and especially about litter etc (trash to many of you guys) !!! Carry out both foot and mobile patrolling alone and in conjunction with the Police for Wildlife and rural crime matters and deterrent purposes.
I have and love my ex Police 2nd Gen Honda CRV 2.2ctdi Sport Diesel 4x4 because it's capable enough off road and drives smooth and quiet on highway and getting an average of 45mpg, sometimes 50mpg it's extremely economical.
It is slightly lifted, k&n filter, roof cage and numerous accessories all over and in it. Also fitted with very capable and quiet AVON AX7 tyres (tires) !! Fuel tank protection plate etc etc. Will be adding a platform in rear to act as both storage / cooking area and bed platform when required. Looking forward to covid restrictions being lifted here soon and trips already booked as got all the equipment and mindset but travelling not allowed, until May anyway.
Proud to be a member and chatted to Scott a few times, hopefully meet in person one day and with more of you. Only wish was in the US and Canada again as was in the 80s last there so I'm obviously not a teenager !!! You are so lucky to have so much accessible land, here in the UK it is very different and limited with most land ownership owned by the few, including our National Parks that in my opinion look after the landowners first and often discourage exploration, as an ex NP Ranger it does anger me somewhat all the restrictions but will stop complaining now 😂
Here's to 2021 being a great year for us all and very different and staying healthy and rembering all those lost forever and those that have lost someone. Hope you all well... Now for a cup a tea.. I am English you know !!!!!!
Welcome, Paul. Sounds like you have a wealth of experience to share with all of us.
On my paternal side, I have roots to England (Berkshire & Wilshire) and hope to visit your lovely country some day to explore the regions of my ancestors who immigrated to the US in the mid-1600s.
Cheers!
Deb
Welcome, Paul.
I am proud to call you a friend, though only through the internet and through all of your very supportive and kind comments on my YouTube channel. I am very happy to have someone from across the water as a part of the team. I will ensure that your experience here will be inclusive and I hope to further expand in the UK as well as other continents. After all, we are all one big family. I think Covid demonstrated remarkably well how small the world really is and how similar our lives are lived... note, I had my cup of tea this early morning, sir! You are a part of the team and I value that greatly. As we move forward, let's talk about ways to bring other UK members aboard. Maybe a chapter could be organized there.
Maybe we can organize a TEAM travel event in the UK to meet up with you after this whole Covid distraction is behind us.
When you get a chance shoot a few photos of your vehicle and share them in the Vehicles Category of the forum... scroll down the forum categories to find that.
Good day!
Scott
Hi Paul,
A Wildlife Crime Ranger!? Wow - I bet you have some stories. Your CRV sounds amazing and I'd love to see some pictures.
Welcome aboard.
@debaruIf wow that's going back some years, English history goes back soooooo far. I love learning about the USA too as love watching and listening to documentaries etc about periods like The "Wild West", the trails used by people heading west, Pony Express and all things like that, plus watching NUMEROUS YouTube videos on anything involving travel in USA. I have family in British Columbia Canada but none in the US. Need to get back over one year.
@4x_admin Thanks that Scott, proud to be part of the movement and your vision. Here's to success and worldwide friendship 👍
