Hello to all!  Its about time I checked out the new site!  As a friend Tony says, It looks Grrrr-

eat!  Ok, that was the kid in me remembering that Tiger on the box...

I'm out here in San Jose California enjoying the heavy rains today...

I've enjoyed the outdoors for some time, starting as a Boy Scout.  I was fortunate to be in Troop that was known for Traveling as we had our own used charter bus that took us all over the place.  Up north to the 1974 World Fair in Spokane Washington to as far south as La Paz Mexico.  Twice yearly to Yosemite. 50 Milers at Yellowstone, Grand Canyon... In 1976 they did a 200 Miler broken into 50 mile segments... unfortunately I dropped out after the first 50 miles.  Back then my gear was, well inexpensive.  An external frame pack, large flannel sleeping bag, and an orange plastic tube tent.  We went to many other places as well, unfortunately, never made it to Eagle.  Great memories... Then later I was a Den Leader in a Pack as my to sons worked their way through Cub Scouts and eventually a Webelos Leader for a number of years were they could start going out more often than the once a year Family Camp the Pack held. From there I became an Assistant Scout Master and remained so until both my sons Eagled out!  Many outings with the Adventure Troop they belongs to.  Well as many as I could go on...  unfortunately, not as many as I'd have liked.

Well now I've grown up, have a 2018 Outback Touring that I hope to fix up a bit like Scott has his and do some Overlanding.  Drooling over the new Winnebago Ekko, but I think I'll give them some time to iron out the design and maybe battery tech will change by the time I jump in.

So now I'm here... Like what Scott has to say, what he has done and what he is planning.  Hope to be able to stick with the ride and adventure out more often.

My goals; need to find smaller rims for the 2018 Outback Touring so I can add tires with a bit more rubber to be able to air down when need.  Think I mat be limited to 17" due to the disk brakes on the Touring...  ID a lift kit and get some of the Self Healing Vinyl wrap to try and protect the paint from all those scratches... the stuff that you heat and the scratch heal themselves. Also need to start working on plans where I can do some of this simple Overlanding stuff that will not destroy my Outback.

Still working for someone else, so for now, can't go too far before I have to turn around and head back to work... Retirement a few years away and that will change the limits... Blessed with a wife that loves the outdoors and hiking as well...

Stick to the ride and adventure on brother! Falken has some suv spec tires that would work for you.  They are specifically designed to balance that unsprung weight.  Otherwise wait for our 4X review on the Ironman ATS setup.  We will compare it to the LP spacer lift.  If you're not looking to alter your ride height then I'd go with the Falken suv tire setup. Stay tuned!

@luke-moussa  I am looking to lift as well as change the tires.  I'll wait for the review and comparison... I'd like to keep the total weight of the new rims and tires close to the same as they are now.   Not in a hurry, so I can wait...

Hi Richard! Great to have you in the portal. Glad you were able to figure out how to get in. I saw an email from you in that process. I was off-grid so I couldn't really respond. Great share also. Look forward to getting to know you better and welcome to the team!
