Hi All,
I’m Greg, an Arkansas native who found himself in Sag Harbor, NY almost 4 years ago for work.
I’m a landscape and architectural designer, who balances work life with constant weekend adventures consisting of fly fishing, camping, canoeing, or likely a combination of it all! I’m also into photography and recently took the dive into videography.
I’m often upstate exploring the Catskills and Adirondacks, and when I can’t get away, I make the most of the lovely grassy bays and dirt trails around the east end of Long Island.
I drive a 2018 Subaru CGK Crosstrek 6spd that’s already clocked 76k miles of adventurin’.
I have a roof rack with a few accessories for biking, camping and canoe carrying, as well as a new set of Off-road wheels and tires - no lift. My build philosophy is to replace it as you need it.
I look forward to learning from and speaking with you all!
-Greg

Hey, @greg-scherer. Welcome!
I have a bone-stock 2019 Crosstrek Premium, but I've not heard of CGK. Can you elaborate?
Deb
Hi @debaru,
Sure, CGK just stands for the color of the car. Cool Gray Khaki. Much easier to type out as its lengthy color name haha.
@4x_admin thank ya much for having me, and the kind words! Means quite a lot coming from you.
LOL! Acronyms! I never would have guessed that. Learn somethin’ new everyday. So, that means my car is a CWP. 🤓

@debaru it sure would! Glad I could help! Not sure it’s too common yet in the Subaru community to designate the color, but in other car forums I’ve belonged to in my life, it’s something that’s been done.
I have seen CGK mentioned in a couple of Subaru forums I browse but am not a member of, but never bothered to investigate. Is there a particular Subaru Forum you like best? I’ve found the Crosstrek forum on the NASIOC to be pretty useful.
@debaru I’ll have to check that one out. I’ve only joined, and explored, the subaruxvforum.com
and it’s been helpful in gaining a deeper understanding of the car, potential issues, and performance limits.
Yes, I have also perused the XV forum, which is pretty darn good.
I just checked out your IG pages, and see that you are also a fly fisherman! I have done some lake and deep sea fishing, but have always wanted to give fly fishing a try. I first got the hankering from the movie, A River Runs Through It. Fly fishing looks so graceful and peaceful.
Welcome aboard, Greg! Sounds like you pack in the adventures. That's great! Look forward to chatting more with you!
Regards,
Pete (Chandler, AZ)
Hi Greg,
Welcome to the Team! I like the look of your tires on the stock stance, very cool.
I love this team. It will grow over time. For now, we have some great people bubbling to the surface and that is what matters to me.
