Hello everyone, Name is Byron. Great to be part of the group and looking forward to meet some of you out there. Been in the off-road game since the 90's but as of late, I'm changing my style to the comfort side. I have recently gotten into the RV lifestyle and now I'm meshing the two worlds together but the off-roading is mellower.

Current rig is a 2018 Ram CCSB diesel with mild lift.

Hey Byron!  Welcome.  Changed my style as well to mellower scenic trails, hiking and camping.  Rock crawling was a lot of fun, but now I'm more about the enjoyment of nature and just being outside!

Regards,

Pete (Chandler, AZ)

Welcome @desertbenny! Curious as to why you parted ways with your rooftop tent.

@debaru, honestly I didn't really like the set up. With the rack that I have, the tent was 7' in the air. I camp with the dog and lugging 50lbs of squirmy dog up 7' on a ladder was pretty sketchy. Plus, I daily drive my truck and it already doesn't fit in my garage so the tent had to live on the truck year round. It became more of a hassle for me and I found I didn't use it much. It was comfy just not my thing I guess.

@desertbenny I totally get that. You gotta do what makes sense. I’m sure you had no trouble offloading that tent.

@debaru,

It was super fast. It had some fiberglass damage and I ended up trading it to a friend for an Airlift air bag suspension for the truck. I'm now enjoying watching my friend's progress as he is restoring it.

@desertbenny Hi Byron. I know I'm late, but welcome to the team!  I hope to get up to your neck of the woods one of these days.  Cheers.
