Hey Guys,
Thank you for having me.
I was lucky enough to win my first year's membership to 4X via the 100th YouTube video giveaway.
I about fell out of bed when I heard my name dropped by Scott. Wow!!!
I am both grateful and excited to be here.
My name is Scott Bernadot.
I live in La Crosse, WI and run my own website design and online marketing company, Bernadot Studios.
My wife, Meghan, and I got married in Las Vegas in 2007 and have 2 daughters (11 and 13) that we cherish every day.
My father passed away just after I graduated from high school in 1988, and it changed the course of my life forever, by highlighting the importance of "time" in our lives.
He worked a job he disliked his most of his adult life and I vowed not to repeat that.
So I created a life for myself where I was more in control of my time and had more free time to do the things I want to do.
My motto, when I started my self-employment adventure, and still is, "failure is not an option", and it drives me to this day to create new services and product offerings to keep my business humming smoothly.
I love my work and I also love a flexible work schedule.
If you are self-employed, you know the freedom I am talking about -- there is nothing like it.
My outdoor passion is fishing the Mississippi River, where I fish most days from Spring to the end of Fall.
Catching fish is a thrill to me and a great way for me to connect with nature on a daily basis.
While fishing, I typically listen to a non-fiction book (personal development, spiritual growth, sales courses, etc.) or listen to the "Philosophize This" podcast to keep learning new stuff every day.
If I had known how exciting and educational Philosophy is, I would have majored in it in college, instead of finance and economics (yawn).
I admire those of you with an adventurous spirit, and it is the reason I love 4Xpedition.
Scott's videos have been very inspirational to me -- and I am grateful (the production quality is top shelf too).
Some of us need a nudge to get out there, and 4X has been that for me.
One last thing. I love playing the guitar and am more of a student of it, than a musician (I lack musical talent and the ability to repeat things over and over without messing up...lol).
But, I still love to play it as a form of expression and look for new ways to understand the instrument.
For example, I put this website together this summer to help guitar players better understand the fretboard and play the pentatonic and major scales easier.
I have only shared this with 2 people so far, but maybe one of you will find it helpful? >> https://www.frethop.com
That's all for now.
Best to all of you! Take care 🙂

Hi Scott and Welcome!
So glad to have you aboard. I loved your share (above) and had a similar experience with my dad passing in 98. Set me on a new course toward a spiritual life, meaningful purpose, inspiration, and creative expression to influence change.
And, of course, for 16 years I ran a graphic design and marketing agency.
I am not as much of a fisherman as I would like to be. That's one of the things I plan to do more of when I get this cabin done. But, probably fly fishing though we have a lake here in the Moreno Valley called Eagle Nest Lake State Park that is teaming with fish. Rainbows.
@heather-blixt you should check out Scott's guitar site. Heather was just talking about wanting to learn to read music. She plays well by ear.
Looking forward to sharing more.
Cheers, Scott!
I haven't sent your kit yet. Probably will be by the end of the week going out.

Thank you so much, Scott.
We certainly seem to have a lot in common.
I really admire your design choices and skills. I can see why you were so successful with your business!
I credit my design sensibilities for the most part to childhood vacations at the family cabin, surrounded by vintage (50s/60s) WI/MN beer advertising. The Hamms Scene-O-Rama motion sign is still on my bucket list.
My good friend and fishing mentor has the most popular fly fishing game on iOS and Android, from what i recall. It is called Fly Fishing Simulator. My friend traveled all over the US shooting various bodies of water to include in the game. Pretty cool and a good fix when you can't get out there. I think he's brilliant for what he has done all by himself.
Sounds good on the kit. I ordered a sweatshirt too. Excited to receive all these goodies!
Thanks again, Scott!

@scott Cool! I will check out the app. I browsed your site also and found your design style to be really nice. How is business in La Crosse area?
It's a cool game. Worth checking out if you are into fly fishing.
Thanks, Scott. Appreciate that, Means a lot coming from you.
Business is good overall, considering some Covid fallout. Looking forward to launching a new service in 2022 - websites starting at $1000 + monthly fee (hosting, email, support, licensing, performance & security). Goal is to build recurring income by lowering initial project costs. Win /Win 🙂
P.S. - did you get my text re: Red Feather?
@collin-leuthold Thank you, Collin! Appreciate it 🙂
As a guitar fan, I really enjoyed your music in many of the earlier episodes. You still making music? I specifically recall a song that bounced between C and Em, with a few descending notes played in between each. Love it.
Sorry, about that. Thank you for the clarification, Scott.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas in your cabin!
Hello and Happy New Year Scott! What a wonderful holiday season we had here at the cabin. Hard to believe how fast time goes by here. 2022 is here and so many adventures ahead!
What adventures are in your future?
Hey Scott,
Yeah Cameron is better at guitar than I am but I’m still trying to learn. I just bought a Washburn acoustic guitar and I’ve been learning a lot of songs since then. I’m definitely more of a vocalist as I was in choir for almost 9 years and performed in many different parts of the United States. One of my biggest accomplishments is singing at Carnegie Hall where Frank Sinatra had his first performance ever. Honestly a really cool story I tell a lot at work!! just going on YouTube and trying follow some instructions to the best of my ability. Cameron just knows how to Play so many instruments through YouTube so I’m hoping to get a little better through YouTube as well!! I think there might be a future collab with Cameron and I but not sure when!!
