Well, just set up my Luno Life Mattress in my 2020 Subaru Outback today to see how it works and fits. I really like it and it is pretty quick to set up and breakdown. Hoping to do a quick overnight to test it out. Still working on my car camping gear so have a few more things to put together before I go.
Anyone in the valley (AZ) have any suggestions on a quick place to get away and off the beaten path for a quick overnighter? I was thinking of the place Scott stayed for the bike excursion but wanted to get the Subaru a little dirty as well!
Pete (Chandler, AZ)
Pete, you can head out toward the Peralta trail. About halfway out to the trailhead there are some right turns that head back into the rolling hills and saguaros. If you go back in you can get tucked away from the road and nobody will see you. I think it might be BLM or State Trust land so you might need to buy a very inexpensive annual access card. But, when my parents used to live in Apache Junction we used to go out there and have family camp fires (just for the evening) too. That was a great time.
@4x_admin Awesome! Thanks, Scott. Great idea. That would be perfect and close to me as well. I haven't been back there in a while. Funny, I was going to go and hike around the Peralta Trail this past weekend. Went to Picket Post Mountain instead and did the circumference. I'll post some pics later! It was a great day out there!!
@pete-raczYa please do!
@pete-racz I've been wanting to check out that area around Peralta trail. If you find a good camp spot could you log the coordinates, if you don't mind sharing and haven't gone yet? Also, good to know about the Luno, it's on my list (been for a while).
Hey Luke -
Well, went out there to hike with my wife a week or so ago. Had every intention of scouting the area for a camp spot but ran out of time. I am going to try to get back out there soon. No problem on sharing the coordinates!
Keep you posted!
Pete
Most of the land the borders the road to the Peralta Trailhead is State Trust Land, which requires a permit to access, whether it be hiking or camping. Here’s a link to their permit info: https://asld.secure.force.com/recreationalpermit/
There is a small parcel of BLM land (33.36713, -111.36860) closer to Peralta Rd that is administered by the BLM Lower Sonoran Field Office. It is advisable to contact BLM to ensure camping is allowed there. They can be reached at: 623.580.5500.

I think I have sold about 10 of these to people inquiring about them over the past month or two. Two people in the past two days!
@4x_admin I thought I saw a coupon or discount code for Luno Life products somewhere on the site before but now I can't find it. Did I make that up?
There should be one. Let me find it.
