Finally, after months of waiting, my Outdoors RV trailer is in my yard. Over the years my overlanding style has evolved from solo offroading/tent camping to family of 4 tent camping. In 2018, we bought an off-road friendly tent trailer to get us all outside. While I enjoyed it and it took us to some cool places, I grew to hate the amount of set up. Fast forward to last year when Scott started his road trip with the Rebel and Camp X camper. I was watching the video's with my wife Janel(She has a 2019 Rebel) and we started discussing hard side campers. Hours of research later I found the Outdoors RV brand.

We made the decision to order one in late December. These trailers are built in Lagrande, Or.  by Outdoors RV manufacturing. In the RV world they are a small outfit only pumping out 1500-2000 units a year. They are a true 4 season RV with heated tanks, 2" foam/aluminum walls, sealed underbelly and it's lifted with an upgraded suspension and shocks. Very solid. I got the call late March that the trailer was done and on the way to the dealer. Picked it up on April 5th.

Now that all our gear has been transferred from the garage to the trailer, I can't wait to get started in this rig. Our style of adventure usually has us picking a destination, setting up our base camp, unhooking the truck and exploring the area from there. This rig serves that purpose to a T. I have a quick shakedown trip planned next month at a local State park and it's maiden voyage is this summer on a long, Nevada trip with Northwest Overland. Stay tuned for more.

Oh and I've added the first mod.

Very nice @desertbenny. 👍 Your trailer makes mine look like a matchbox, but having one to use as a base camp is totally worth it. I only use mine for local trips to save wear and tear on my Crosstrek, but if I had a nice truck like yours I would be tempted to get a “real” trailer instead of my cargo conversion.

@shovel, The data plate says 5810lbs dry with a maximum trailer weight of 8250lbs.

@4x_admin, lol I'll have to get some taken tomorrow but here are the stock photos from their site.

Nice. Got one slide out or two? I was looking at a Travel Trailer recently. A LANCE 2075 but decided to hold off as I would have had to trade in the Sprinter camper I have now. I had been debating trade-in for the trailer so I could bring my RAM truck along and use it for weekend overland trips without the trailer wherever I happened to be.

Just the one slide out.

Lance does makes outstanding trailers, they were 3rd in line for me. OutdoorsRV, Nash and Lance were the only brands I was considering. This is probably the worst year to buy a trailer or RV. I got in on mine just in the nick of time. We ordered the end of December and were able to snatch the last 21DBS that was allotted to our dealer. Right now, If i were to try and order it, delivery is Jan-Feb anticipated delivery. The demand is so high, there is not any dealer incentives anymore and people are stuck paying full MSRP. Also there is a slow down on some parts manufactures. Mine was on hold for a couple weeks waiting on the A/C unit and the bathroom sink. They gave up on waiting for the plastic sinks and just started installing the upgraded stainless steel sinks.

I looked at a Lance trailer last month when I was considering trading the Sprinter. I have one slide out on the Sprinter and it is great...adds a ton of room.

So much room for activities!

Getting ready to take it out for a shakedown run next week in preparation for the big Nevada run in July.

Will do! Trailer is all hooked up and ready to hit the road in the morning. Just a spot close to Mt. Saint Helens for a couple of days.

1st shakedown complete and I absolutely love this trailer. We spent the week at Seaquest state park in SW Washington. It's located right on Silver lake just a short distance from Mount Saint Helens. We had no solid itinerary for this trip, just sit and relax. Found a great, shaded and secluded spot to set up camp and chill for a few days.

Went all glamping mode with the propane fire pit and the solar powered Tiki tourches. Love the ambience they add.

The trailer tows great behind my rig and all systems performed as expected. Now almost all my down time is taken up by dreaming and planning the next trip.

Found an excellent spot for some stickers. I have a habit of naming my vehicles after Star Wars characters. We named the trailer the Imperial troop transport and the K79-S80 is the model number for the ITT's.
